  8. We can supply SIMM RAM for the Risc PC and take your old RAM in part
  9. exchange. Most Acorn dealers ask rather high prices, but it is NOT just
  10. a matter of getting PC SIMMs as quite a lot of them *** DON'T WORK ***

  12. So be careful - if you try to cut corners you could find you've just
  13. paid around £200 for a 'cheap' RAM upgrade that won't work on your Risc
  14. PC - and the supplier may refuse a refund (or deduct 20%) because they
  15. were never advertised to work on an Acorn machine.

  17. The prices below are not 100% certain as costs are rather volatile so if
  18. possible phone before ordering (0181 778 2659)

  20. The first column is the price of a module when bought outright with no
  21. part exchange. The following columns show the price for various size
  22. SIMM's in part exchange. Look along the top line for SIMM you have to
  23. part-exchange and then follow the column down until you reach the size
  24. you want, and that's what you will pay.

  26. IMPORTANT - When paying for SIMMs with your RAM in part exchange I will
  27. require TWO cheques. The first is the part exchange price, the second is
  28. the DIFFERENCE between the PX price and the outright purchase price of
  29. the SIMM you are buying. This second cheque will be held as deposit
  30. until I receive your old SIMM and then destroyed. You can post-date this
  31. second cheque if you wish. Alternatively you can send your SIMM to me
  32. first with just the cheque for the PX price, but most people will
  33. obviously need the new RAM before sending the old.

  35. PLEASE PACK RAM CAREFULLY. It is your responsibility to get it to me in
  36. good condition. Use an anti-static bag, plenty of 'bubble wrap', and a
  37. jiffy bag. If you don't have an anti-static bag wrap it in kitchen foil.
  38. It's best to open the package I send to you CAREFULLY and re-use that.

  40. If you pay by credit card (not Switch/Delta) there is a 3% surcharge.
  41. Sorry, but there's only a small markup on RAM prices and I have to pay
  42. the bank. Blame them, not me. If you choose to pay by credit/debit card
  43. and want to part exchange it is understood that if your old SIMM does
  44. not arrive in good condition I have the right to charge the same account
  45. with the difference between the PX and full price.
